Before lodging a complaint please take into consideration:
- the consumer has the right to lodge a complaint concerning inconsistency of goods or a service to provisions of a contract within two years after conclusion of a transaction;
- make sure whether you have kept the purchase cheque or any other document confirming the transaction;
- send a written complaint to the trader. If the trader does not reply to your complaint or gives an answer, infringing your rights, turn for help to ECC Latvia.
A complaint to ECC Latvia may be lodged by filling in cross- border complaint form, which, after entering of the necessary information and adding of documents, will automatically come into our data base.
Please take into account! In order to fill in and lodge the cross-border complaint form you should have at least Adobe Reader 8.1.2 or more recent version, otherwise you will not be able to use this form.

In order to examine your complaint as fast as possible and in effective manner, in the statement, which is addressed to ECC Latvia, the following shall be indicated:
- information on the trader, its complete address, country etc.;
- complete official and factual (should they differ) address of your place of residence, telephone number, e-mail address and any other contact information;
- description of the problem and the reason of the complaint as detailed as possible;
- clearly state your claim – what you want to receive from the trader.
Together with complaint it is necessary to add copies of the following documents:
- copy of document confirming the purchase- a cheque, contract;
- copy of the complaint sent by You to the trader, as well as the received answer (if answer was given), as well as copies of any other documents that may be important in your case.
